Aziza F. Elayan specializes in complex civil litigation, class action, mass tort, products liability, and personal injury. She has represented clients on issues including, but not limited to, consumer protection law violations, breach of non-compete agreements, defective products, and severe injuries across federal and state courts.

Bio

Aziza obtained her law degree from the FIU College of Law, earning recognition for her exceptional academic performance by making the Dean’s List and receiving the book award in Real Estate Transactions.

In addition to her academic accomplishments, Aziza participated actively in various nationwide competitions, showcasing her talents on a broader stage. Notable among her achievements was reaching the Quarterfinals in the national 2010 Wechsler First Amendment Moot Court Competition. She was also a Semi-Finalist in the 2010 Board of Advocates Intramural Appellate Advocacy Competition, and a finalist in the 2009 Board of Advocates Intramural Negotiation Competition.

During her tenure at FIU, Aziza demonstrated a strong commitment to serving the community by working as a legal advocate at the Carlos A. Costa Immigration & Human Rights Clinic. In this role, she dedicated herself to representing marginalized immigrant clients, resulting in a significant achievement: successfully securing political asylum for one of her clients facing deportation. Her efforts highlighted both her legal skills and her compassion for those in need of assistance.

Aziza’s practice has focused in the areas of complex civil litigation, class action, multi-district litigation, products liability, and personal injury. She has been an integral member of the litigation team at Colson Hicks Eidson in the following cases:

  • Havana Docks v. Carnival, Royal, NCL, and MSC (Libertad Act cases that resulted in approximately $450 Million in four federal court judgments)

  • 3M Products Liability Multidistrict Litigation (principal assistant to a member of the firm who serves on the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee in the largest MDL in the history of the United States involving defective earplugs sold to the U.S. military)

  • SharkBite Products Liability Class Action (represented consumers who purchased and used defective water heater connectors against the product manufacturer and a retailer of the product)

  • Takata Airbag Products Liability Multidistrict Litigation (a high-profile nationwide class action lawsuit involving the largest automotive recall in the history of the United States that resulted in settlements of over $1 billion)
