There is no excuse for a driver fleeing the scene of a car accident, especially if he or she caused the wreck in the first place.
Unfortunately, due to the actions of a hit-and-run driver, there was a 17-car pileup on the Palmetto Expressway earlier this month. According to WTVJ-TV, the incident took place in the northbound lanes of State Road 826 near the Northwest 122nd Street intersection and resulted in several victims suffering non-life threatening injuries and requiring hospitalization.
In the wake of the massive wreck, a few drivers followed the hit-and-run driver’s vehicle as it fled the accident scene and called 911 to report it. Still, as of this report, the Florida Highway Patrol had yet to sort out the details of the crash or its aftermath.
