Joseph J. Kalbac, Jr. is a seasoned trial attorney with more than 100 trials under his belt. Working one-on-one with his clients, Mr. Kalbac specializes in cases involving serious injury, wrongful death, and professional liability. Since joining our firm, Mr. Kalbac has obtained verdicts, arbitration awards, judgments, and settlements totaling more than $250 million.

Mr. Kalbac’s extensive experience handling complex cases has resulted in numerous successes. He obtained full compensation for a family whose son died on a cruise ship, despite the defendant’s claims for damages protection. He also secured a settlement of over $10 million in a malpractice case involving catastrophic injuries to a child.
Mr. Kalbac has been recognized for his accomplishments, including being named “One of the Most Effective Personal Injury Lawyers” by The Daily Business Review for obtaining a $39 million verdict in a medical negligence case. He also secured the highest wrongful death settlement in Collier County, over $10 million, in a case involving a malfunctioning security gate.
Beyond the courtroom, Mr. Kalbac is a highly engaged professional and community member. He has served in leadership positions in various legal associations, including the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Florida Board of Trial Advocates, and the Miami Dade Bar Association. Mr. Kalbac is also committed to community service and has held leadership roles at Palmer Trinity School, St. Thomas Episcopal Church, and Parish School.
He has received numerous honors and recognitions throughout his career, including being named the 2009 Lawyer of the Year by the ABOTA Miami Chapter and being listed as one of the Most Effective Personal Injury Lawyers by The Daily Business Review that same year.
