Colson Hicks Eidson has filed a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of the family of Cristian Fernandez, a 27-year-old who tragically lost his life in a collision between a Fisher Island ferry and a recreational vessel in Miami’s Government Cut. The lawsuit, brought by Cristian’s brother as personal representative of his estate, alleges that the collision was entirely avoidable and resulted from the negligence of both the ferry and the recreational vessel operators.
The complaint names the Fisher Island Community Association and individual ferry crew members, as well as the owner and operator of the recreational vessel. It seeks to hold them accountable for failing to take proper precautions under Florida law and the Inland Navigation Rules, which are designed to prevent exactly this type of tragedy.
Colson Hicks Eidson is proud to represent the Fernandez family in seeking justice for Cristian.
