Earlier this year, Miami-Dade was the site of a transit bus-SUV collision that resulted in the bus crashing into a store and injuring 25 people, including several high school students. According to the Orlando Sentinel, the incident took place around 6:30 a.m. on a Thursday on Northwest 36th Street.
There were reportedly 23 people on the bus at the time of the collision. Amongst the 23 people on the bus were students on their way to school at Miami Jackson Senior High. According to the Sentinel, the bus driver was the only person seriously injured in the crash, as he sustained non-life-threatening but extensive injuries.
The rest of the injured, which included the daughter of the driver of the SUV, reportedly sustained minor injuries in the crash. They were described by a spokesperson for Miami Fire Rescue as “walking wounded” because their injuries mostly consisted of cuts and bruises.
