If you have been following our blog lately, you know we have been covering the latest revelations in the ongoing Takata airbag recall saga, which has just taken another turn, according to The Detroit News.
According to the news outlet, Honda has confirmed that a defective Takata airbag was linked to a fatal car accident in mid-January. This is reportedly the sixth death involving the combination of a Honda vehicle and Takata’s allegedly defective airbags.
The victim is reported to have bought the vehicle, a 2002 Honda Accord, in April 2014. However, the person apparently never received notice of a recall involving the Takata airbags, which was issued in June 2014. As a result of not receiving notice of the recall, the victim never had the defective airbags repaired.
