Parents do not trust others with the safety and wellbeing of their children lightly, so when that trust is broken, they deserve answers and to see those at fault held accountable. A recent school bus accident in Lee County, Florida serves a reminder for just how easily parents’ trust can be broken. The crash happened in Fort Myers on a Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Royal Palm Avenue and Stella Street, according to WINK-TV.
Thankfully, no children were aboard the bus at the time of the wreck. Tragically, however, a 40-year-old city employee was killed in the crash. The 40-year-old man was driving a city water truck at the time of the accident.
As both the water truck and school bus reached the intersection, the bus ran its stop sign, which led to a collision between it and the truck. The city employee died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the wreck. The bus driver had to be taken to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
