Recently, a Sarasota, Florida school bus was involved in a crash due to the alleged careless driving of the bus driver. According to the Herald-Tribune, the bus had no children aboard at the time of the accident.
Prior to the crash, the bus was reportedly heading north on Interstate 75. The wreck happened around 3:13 p.m. when a Jeep slowed down as it neared an accident scene, where another vehicle had struck a guardrail.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the bus driver, who was traveling behind the Jeep, did not slow down the bus when the Jeep slowed, which resulted in the bus rear-ending the Jeep and the Jeep crashing into the vehicle that had hit the guardrail.
The driver of the Jeep had to be taken to Venice Regional Hospital with minor injuries. The FHP cited the bus driver for careless driving.
