In early November, a beam from a construction site crashed onto a restaurant next door to it and nearly hit a few diners while they were eating breakfast. According to WESH-TV, just before 11 a.m. on a Sunday, a 100-foot long steel sheet piling fell onto Grills Tiki Bar in Port Canaveral, Florida.
Reportedly, customers who were eating breakfast were within mere feet of being hit by the steel beam, which could have resulted in severe injury or even death. The piling fell from a construction site next to Grills where a Royal Caribbean and Norwegian cruise ship terminal is being built.
Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the incident. Although, the beam caused damage to the restaurant’s upper-level bathroom. According to the report, the construction manager apologized to the owner of Grills after the incident and claimed “wind and some communication issues were” factors in causing the accident.
