Plane crashes can happen for any number of reasons, including:
- Mechanical failure
- Pilot error
- Inclement weather
Tragically, a Learjet crash in the Bahamas claimed the lives of nine people, including a well-known pastor and his wife and daughter. The plane crash happened on a Sunday in early November at around 4 p.m. and involved a Lear 36 Executive Jet, according to WFOR-TV.
The Lear 36 reportedly crashed in Freeport on the island of Grand Bahama after taking off from Nassau. At the time of this report, Bahamian authorities were still determining what caused the plane to go down. However, multiple reports have indicated that the Lear 36 may have hit a construction crane at the Grand Bahama shipyard during its approach to the airport, which caused the aircraft to explode.
The pastor who was killed in the crash was internationally known. He was the leader of the Bahamas Faith Ministries, and in South Florida he was well-known at Jesus People Ministries Church International in Miami Gardens.
