Bicyclists, like pedestrians, are some of the most vulnerable members of traffic. Unfortunately, due to their vulnerability, cyclists are often seriously injured or even killed when they are involved in traffic accidents involving motor vehicles.
Recently, a Miami bicyclist was killed while riding his bicycle near South Pointe Park, according to WPLG-TV. The accident reportedly occurred near the park’s entrance and involved a garbage removal truck.
Authorities reported that after the cyclist, who appeared to be in his 40s and wearing a wedding band according to witnesses, was hit by the garbage truck, the truck driver did stop and remain at the scene. The police were still investigating the incident at the time of this report.
