At a luncheon held in the JW Marriott Miami, 20 highly accomplished women were honored for their contributions to law. These honorees fight to defeat cancer, represent everybody including the poor and famous, and they are changing our country with verdicts that reveal the flaws in our system. Among the honorees featured in Top 20 Women In Law was Colson Hick Eidson’s very own Julie Braman Kane.

Julie has affected the entire country with her courtroom accomplishments, and has helped make the healthcare industry safer. In 2009, Julie helped win a $38 million verdict for a victim of medical malpractice and drug negligence. The award not only helped her client who was suffering from severe pain after the malpractice incident, but it also helped change the way hospital across the nation handled certain medications.
Recently, Julie was recognized by the American Association for Justice when she was elected the next president of the nonprofit advocacy and lobbying group. Her term in office begins in the summer of 2016, and she has already announced plans to help improve the rights of plaintiffs all over the country.
“My overarching goal is to do whatever needs to be done to protect victims’ rights across the United States,” Kane said when she accepted the AAJ honor.
