CORAL GABLES, Fla. (Nov. 21, 2018) – Attorney Stephanie A. Casey, a partner at the Coral Gables-based law firm Colson Hicks Eidson, was selected by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for its prestigious “40 Under 40” award, recognizing 40 outstanding lawyers in South Florida under the age of 40.
Casey received the award during an awards ceremony held at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach. More than a 100 guests, including distinguished and accomplished legal professionals in South Florida, attended the special event to recognize the honorees and to help raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Established in 1955, the mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatments, and ensuring access to high quality, specialized care.
A litigation attorney, Casey practices in the areas of commercial litigation, personal injury, and class action litigation. She has represented the U.S. and international clients in a wide range of antitrust, securities, commercial litigation, qui tam, and white collar defense matters in state and federal trial and appellate courts in Florida, New York and Washington DC.
Active within the legal profession, Casey currently serves as Secretary of the South Florida Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and is a Committee Chair for the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers. She is also a member of the American Association for Justice; American Bar Association; Miami-Dade County Bar Association; and the Florida Bar, Federal Court Practice Committee.
Casey received her law degree, magna cum laude as a member of the Order of the Coif, from American University, Washington College of Law. She earned her bachelor of arts in political science and communications, cum laude, from Boston College. She is licensed to practice in Florida, New York and Washington D.C. A native of Brazil, Casey speaks Portuguese fluently.
