CORAL GABLES, Fla. (August 6, 2012) – Attorney Natalie M. Rico, an associate at the Coral Gables-based law firm Colson Hicks Eidson, recently spoke at the Institute for Paralegal Education’s (IPE) seminar on Thursday, June 28 in West Palm Beach, Florida. IPE is a division of the National Business Institute that provides continuing legal education to paralegals, legal assistants and paralegal students.
The seminar, “Succeeding at Trial/Trial Preparation from Start to Finish for Paralegals,” was designed to provide hands on training, proven practices, and specialized resources to help paralegals support their firms and maximize their effectiveness. Rico presented the topics of “Preparing Your Witness” and “Succeeding at Trial.” Attendees learned how to establish solid case management and organization techniques, as well as strategies for effective document control, and how to prepare clients to testify at trial. Additionally, attendees learned how to get the most out of witnesses during pretrial interviews and how to put together persuasive, clear trial exhibits that get results.
Rico focuses her practice on class action and mass tort litigation, personal injury and products liability. She earned her Juris Doctorate from American University, Washington College of Law and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Miami. Rico is currently a member of the American Bar Association, Cuban American Bar Association, Florida Association of Women Lawyers, Hispanic National Bar Association, Miami Catholic Lawyers’ Guild and Miami-Dade County Bar Association, Young Lawyers’ Section.
