Two Florida teenagers lost their lives last week in a tragic car accident in Immokalee. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a 17-year-old male was driving a 2004 Hyundai Elantra on Westclox Street at about 5:00 a.m. He attempted to pass a 2010 Dodge Charger driven by a 22-year-old female with a 17-year-old female in the passenger seat.
The right side of the Hyundai struck the Dodge and both vehicles spun out of control. The Hyundai flipped two times, hit a light pole and then hit a mobile home. The crash ejected the 17-year-old driver from the car and he died at the scene.
The Dodge flipped once, struck a barbed wire fence and came to a rest in a wooded area. The crash ejected both occupants from the vehicle. Emergency responders transported the 22-year-old driver to Naples Community Hospital where doctors treated her for serious injuries. Her 17-year-old passenger died in the car crash, according to the FHP.
